This listing is for a large vintage pair of Art Metal vertical filing cabinets. They are green metal with brass handles and card holders. Each cabinet has 49 drawers. Overall measurements: each cabinet is 35" wide x 83-1/2" tall x 15-1/2 deep (measuring out to the handles). So the pair pictured together would be 70 wide.
They can be bolted together or separated. These cabinets are over 100 years old. They were removed from the Marquette County Courthouse in Marquette, Michigan. This Courthouse was featured in the movie "Anatomy of a Murder" which was filmed in 1959.
Not sure if the filing cabinets were shown in the movie or not. They do show some age and use wear. Scuffs, scratches, finish wear, a few paint flecks. The sides and back do show a bit more wear, old paint, dents, bends. The drawers and hardware are in good condition.
Brass does show some tarnishing. There are 8 drawers that do have a different card holder than the others. It is square shaped where the others are more ornate (see photos). It may be missing a few of the inside drawer slides. We would like to sell the pair together. We're guessing that each cabinet would weigh around 300 pounds. From a smoke free environment.
